How Mitsubishi Ductless Systems Work
Like all heating and cooling systems, Mitsubishi mini splits use liquid refrigerant to absorb heat. To do this, an outdoor compressor pumps the refrigerant to an indoor air handler through thin tubes that run through your wall, allowing you to deliver heated or cooled air directly into your desired area without ductwork.

Mitsubishi Electric ductless systems have been shown to use up to 50% less energy than traditional heating and cooling equipment. Plus, these units have a Coefficient of Performance (COP) factor of up to 4.68.
This is a measurement of the performance standards of products that use refrigerants. The higher the COP, the better since this translates to lower electric bills. For comparison, standard HVAC systems generally have a COP factor of less than 1.
Smaller Carbon Footprint
Energy efficiency does more than keep your operating costs low — it reduces the impact of fossil fuel use on the environment and provides cleaner heating and cooling year-round. Mitsubishi mini splits use ozone-friendly refrigerants and have zero Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP).

Whisper-Quiet Operation
You might have heard that heat pump technology is whisper-quiet, but what does that really mean? A normal speaking voice is around 60 to 70 decibels.
Moderate rainfall can be measured at around 50 decibels, while a quiet office or refrigerator humming clocks in at about 40 decibels. A human whisper is 30 decibels and the sound of a ticking watch or rustling leaves can be measured at around 20 decibels.
A Mitsubishi Electric system operates as low as 19 decibels, which is just above the sound of normal breathing. That’s quiet!

When it came to installation, Steve and Noah and the team were fantastic! Not only did they work around our toddler’s nap schedule so as not to make loud noise when he was sleeping, they were so fast and clean! You would never know we had full ductwork, vents and mini splits added at the end of each day. They were organized, always on time, and walked us through the plan at the start of every day. We had everything done in a week! Their office team even sent us all of the paperwork for the rebates to fill out within a day of completion, and they submitted on our behalf. We received our full rebate less than a month after installation was complete. And so far this summer heat has gone, our house has felt blissfully cool.
