For a number of reasons, heat pumps and weatherization go hand in hand.
Increase Efficiency & Lower Energy Costs
When you’re installing a new, high-efficiency HVAC system, you want to ensure that the home is well-insulated to keep that heated or cooled air inside the home. According to the U.S. Department of Energy, adding insulation to your home, particularly in areas like attics, floors over crawl spaces, and basements, can save homeowners an average of 15% on their heating and cooling costs, which translates to around 11% on total energy costs.
Mass Save Incentives & Weatherization Requirements
Proper weatherization is a requirement if you’d like to take advantage of the Mass Save heat pump incentives, such as rebates, heat loans, etc. A Mass Save auditor will come to your home (at no charge) to assess the energy efficiency of key pieces of equipment, with special attention paid to the insulation and any cracks or leaks.
If weatherization is recommended, you must complete that work in order to qualify for the incentives. The good news: Mass Save will pay for 100% of any air sealing and 75% of any required insulation (possibly more for low-income customers).

It was a pleasure from beginning to end dealing with Cape AC & Electric. John was fabulous in helping navigate an appointment. The 2 technicians who made the service call were very friendly, explained everything in detail all while conveying themselves in a professional manner. Extremely please with my choice!
When the Cape Cod Heat Pump crew came to so the annual maintenance on our mini ductless system, they suggested that we add extra protection for our system, and us, by adding a Rectorseal Surge Protector. After a few telephone conversations with Shannon who was able to get answers to all my questions, I decided to have the surgery protector installed.
Brian arrived promptly and after introducing himself and explaining what the job would entail, he got to work. Once the job was completed, Brian helped me do a system check to make sure everything was running perfectly. He then offered to show me the surge protector and explained all the electronics and how it works!

Once the job was completed, Brian helped me do a system check to make sure everything was running perfectly. We had a wonderful experience with Cape Heating and AC. They were prompt to come out and evaluate our house for the options available us to install AC. Caleb was kind enough to even explore some alternative options I had inquired about and they gave us 3 setups to choose from, all with air flow, efficiency and value in mind. They also were the only company we evaluated that mentioned the rebates the state offers for installing these units. Not once did it feel like they were trying to oversell us on something - they were fair and professional and straightforward, which we really appreciated.
When it came to installation, Steve and Noah and the team were fantastic! Not only did they work around our toddler’s nap schedule so as not to make loud noise when he was sleeping, they were so fast and clean! You would never know we had full ductwork, vents and mini splits added at the end of each day. They were organized, always on time, and walked us through the plan at the start of every day. We had everything done in a week! Their office team even sent us all of the paperwork for the rebates to fill out within a day of completion, and they submitted on our behalf. We received our full rebate less than a month after installation was complete. And so far this summer heat has gone, our house has felt blissfully cool. The units are so quiet and we are so happy with the outcome!!

I recently had a massive system failure where multiple dampers and the zone board weren't working, causing the heating and cooling to completely shut down. They handled it flawlessly and were incredibly professional, polite, and honest throughout the process. They didn't try to upsell me, taking a step-by-step approach to save me money, and even fixed up some wiring and labeled it better. Plus, they replaced the filter, taking care of all the little details.
I only wish I had known about them two or three years ago, as I'm sure the system installation would have been significantly cheaper, and I doubt I would have had any repairs done in the first place.
Their communication was bar none—they were always responsive, even when I was busy with work. I trust them completely and will definitely use them for any future projects. Highly recommend!

The firm that our general contractor chose to install our heat pump system was not knowledgeable on the system they installed. After many service calls with no results, we decided to bite the bullet and hire a new firm to inspect the system and give us options to correct.
The crew at Cape Cod Heat Pumps responded immediately. They came out inspected the system and provided a written report as to our options. We scheduled the job. The arrived on time. The crew was fantastic they took the time to answer all our questions. They were with us for 3 days and the impact of the repairs did not disrupt our daily lives.
Our dogs Moxie and Gordy fell in love with the crew.
When they finished the project they walked us through how the system would now work.
It has been a few weeks and the system is performing beautifully. CCHP is now our go to Heroes.❤️

Had an issue with our HVAC system in a recently purchased home and Blake Dean was our technician. He was fantastic- clearly explained the problems and was helpful in educating me on the entire system. Not cheap but highly recommend these folks!
