Labor Warranties

Even the very best HVAC equipment, professionally installed, can still break down or sometimes fail to operate as expected.  These are mechanical  systems, after all, often running continuously for prolonged periods, and they can be subject to challenging outdoor and indoor environmental conditions.  Most manufacturers offer limited warranties that cover the parts – and when necessary even complete replacement – when equipment fails.  LG, for example, offers a 12-year limited warranty on their heat pump equipment.

But that doesn’t cover the labor required to diagnose and repair the equipment.  That’s where our labor warranties come in.

Standard Labor Warranty

With installations of heat pumps, furnaces, conventional AC systems, or ERVs (energy recovery ventilators), we include a one-year labor warranty.  The labor warranty is extended to a second year if you have a maintenance service performed after the first year.  (Maintenance is not included in the installation price; it is performed at an additional cost.)  So if you have any problems  during the first year (or two years with maintenance), we’ll send out a service tech during regular business hours, and there will be no cost to you for covered parts OR labor required to get the system back up and running.

Extended Labor Warranty

For customers who would like the most worry-free ownership experience possible, we offer 12-year extended warranties through JB Warranties.  This term matches LG’s 12-year equipment warranties, protecting against unexpected expenses.*   JB Warranty plans cover mechanical and electrical failures.  Both parts and labor are included.

Equipment Covered:

  • Condensing Units
  • Evaporator Coils
  • Compressors
  • Gas Furnaces
  • Water Heaters
  • Heat Pumps
  • Refrigerant Leaks **

There are no deductibles with these agreements.

Importantly, if the time comes to sell your house, the warranty transfers to the new homeowner, free of charge.  This can increase the value of your home, and encourage potential buyers.

The price of the extended warranty is based upon the type and number of pieces of equipment you have.  Our consultant will provide the pricing when quoting the price of your new system, and our office staff can also provide the pricing at any time, as well as complete coverage details.

We always recommend annual maintenance of HVAC equipment.  Note that annual maintenance of the equipment is required as a condition of coverage with these JB extended warranties.  Enroll in our Cape Care Maintenance Plan for a convenient way to automate this process.

* Note that manufacturer and extended warranties cover mechanical failures under normal operating conditions.  Acts of nature, including animal damage and maintenance-related items like  filters are not covered.  See brochure for complete details.

** Limitations apply.
