Barnstable Residents May Be Eligible for Rebate of 80% of Heat Pump Project Cost
Did you know that during 2024 you might qualify for a larger rebate on a new heat pump HVAC system if your income falls within certain guidelines? Barnstable County residents making between 60-80% of the state median income can participate in a special Cape & Islands section of the Mass Save rebate program offering rebates equal to 80% of the installed cost of heat pump systems.
See the Enhanced Residential Barnstable County income guidelines in the table below. If your income falls below these levels, you qualify for these enhanced incentives.
For example, if your new system costs $25,000, you would be eligible for an enhanced rebate of $20,000. (Compare this to the standard whole home rebate of $10,000, which is offered regardless of income.)
Cape Light Compact has advised that the special 80% incentive will no longer be offered after 2024; it will revert to $16,000.
To take advantage of this offering, schedule a consultation with one of Cape Cod Heat Pumps’ consultants. Call (508) 833-4822. As a Mass Save Heat Pump Installer program partner, we can guide you through the entire process.
As a first step, you can verify your income and pre-qualify on the Mass Save Income Verification site.
